The aim of the IRLP project is to reliably and inexpensively link amateur radio systems without the use of RF links, leased lines, or satellites.

The IRLP uses Voice-Over-IP (VoIP) custom software and hardware. Coupled with the power of the Internet, IRLP will link your repeater site or simplex station to the world in a simple and cost effective way.

IRLP operates a worldwide network of dedicated servers and nodes offering very stable worldwide voice communications between hundreds of towns and cities. All this with unsurpassed uptimes and the full dynamic range of telephone quality audio.

W9DUP IRLP Operating Procedures

Please do not discuss codes over the repeater or links.
Local Access prefix will not work on other systems.
Announce your call sign (ID) with your intent. (W9??? connecting to node XXXX).
Enter the ON code for the node and release your PTT *1node (example *15370).
Please Note: Do not use 5370, it's ours
Please wait for the IRLP courtesy tone.
Please remember pause 3 seconds after keying up before speaking to prevent out going audio from being cut off. (Pause, Pause, Pause)
Enter *2 to disconnect and be sure to wait for the link to close completely before keying up the repeater. (Remember wait for a break and the courtesy tone)
You will hear a final disconnect message.
